What is School Consultation?
An integrated model of school consultation includes providing psychological and educational services via a specialist (consultant), to a team member (consultee), to help facilitate progress and improve outcomes (learning or adjustment) for a student (client) or group of students (clients) (Erchul & Martens, 2006).
The goal of consultation is to empower teachers to select, implement, and evaluate programs and increase confidence and enhance treatment accountability, via instrumental and emotional support.
