What we knew almost 30 years ago.

“In-service training may be available to prepare teachers for individual and group interventions that have a counseling theme, yet even the best of workshops does little to insure that applications of concepts and techniques are consistent with training received. Indeed a major failing and source of frustration with in-services is the lack of follow-up with teachers to insure fidelity of application and to monitor effectiveness” (Ehly & Dustin, 1989, p. 157).
