Meet Kristy Johnson, M.Ed, BCBA!

Kristy Johnson began her work with children with special needs while attending Temple University and earning an undergraduate degree with a triple major in elementary, special, and early childhood education. She began teaching swim lessons to children with special needs, and then started working as an #ABA therapist within home programs.  Upon graduating college, she taught #autism support in the #public school system where she had experience with #self-contained, #resource and #co-teaching assignments. Kristy continued working as an ABA #therapist while teaching in the public school system and earned a #Master’s degree in #instructional #education from Gratz College. She continued her studies to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst through Penn State and began consulting with various home programs, while also moving into a behavior analyst role within the public school system. Kristy continues to work as a behavior analyst for the school district, as well various home-based educational and clinical ABA programs at EdD and IIBD.  Kristy is currently completing her dissertation study for her doctoral degree through Concordia University.  Kristy’s passion to work with children special needs and their families comes from her own family and personal experiences with having several special needs family members.  Kristy is a dedicated and loyal #BACB supervisor and Account Advisor at Education Designers, and we are so grateful she has and continues to be a part of our network and team in so many supervisory, administrative, and direct provider capacities after so many years! She has worked with students and clients from over 8 different countries! She employs culturally sensitive and linguistically diverse practices with great ease, while remaining true to the principles that define an evidence-based and scientifically validated approach.
