|About the Seminar:
You intuitively evaluate a person’s mental state every time you interact or observe. From personal hygiene, non-verbal communication, characteristics of speech, to behaviors – your judgment is imperative to helping those in need. Mental Status Exams (MSE) are the foundation for any treatment plan or crisis plan, but what if you miss that subtle cue or sign that could have saved a client’s life, or other lives?
It is your responsibility to conduct an accurate mental status exam, uncovering and differentiating symptoms and their causes.
Tim Webb, M.A., Ed., LPC has over 20 years of experience in performing mental status exams in emergency settings and as an intake director. He has developed state-of-the-art assessment tools and strategies that will help you reveal important information about the client, that may not be otherwise discovered through a one-on-one conversation.
Discover tools and expert knowledge you need to improve your interviewing skills, identify underlying factors such as medical issues, substance abuse, or psychiatric disorders and assess for suicide or violence. When interviewing and observing the client isn’t enough, discover how to use lab values, medical records and testimony from family members to better understand what you’re dealing with.
Providing effective treatment is dependent on an accurate mental status exam. Attend this seminar and apply your new skills immediately when the next client walks through your door.
